A special moment you enjoyed with your family
Dear diary
The moment i enjoy most spending time with my family is to travel. When i am travelling with my family, we spend the most time together unlike other normal days, where we just eat meals together, watch TV and other boring activities.
When we are travelling, we stay together, we talk, play, tell jokes and many other interesting stuff, like playing titi, a card game.
We normally travel during the June and year end holidays to places in Asia, like Malaysia, Thailand, and China.
Recently, my brothers have joined us to travel to other countries, mainly because my parents think they are mature and old enough to travel. This is because my brothers will be able to take care of themselves and not get lost.
In the last December holidays, we went to Taiwan with another family! I was so excited before i went there. Taiwan is excellent, my family and i went to places like Taipei, Hualien and Taitung.
Taipei was the coldest place we have been to(even though i could take it), my brothers suffered severe colds. The best part of Taiwan was of course the food. They had delicious meat topped on rice and i ate three bowls of that simple-but-divine dish. I had a good time there.
I feel that traveling bonds a family together as it "forces" members of the family to speak to each other. It is impossible for a family to keep quiet and unresponsive throughout a 13 day trip like mine.
I will definitely travel when i grow up. Perhaps i will be a bag-packer and travel around the world with my family to experience the world's wonders.
A moment spent alone doing something you enjoyed
Dear diary,
I will reveal my secret pastime and you cannot tell it to anyone else, okay?
The moment i cherish most and i enjoy spend doing alone most is eating.
People say having a mole above your lips shows that you are crazy about food. This proves them right.
Eating is fun and cool as it can magically relieve stress and "erase"the day's problems and difficulties and make you forget everything.
Eating can relieve stress maybe as i take it like playing computer games. When you eat something nice, you will feel like you have won a game match or something else, like leveling your main character up.
Eating will make you forget everything else because when you are eating, and enjoying it of course, you are very focused. Let it be what dish you want to eat next with your rice, or which part to bite into the ham sandwich, your brain is thinking about food, food and...food. This concentration will make you brain throw everything away.
I love many types of food. However the cuisine i like most is still the North-Indian cuisine, with delicious nans and succulent curries, fried vegetables and many more to be tasted by me in person.
However, i do pity people who dislike eating. Many of these people say that food is just for the purpose of filling your stomach, providing you with a source of energy. If that is so, why will there be chefs and mothers all around the world whipping out new and old recipes of delicious food for their families? Why not the chefs just learn how to cook the meat, mothers learn how to boil raw vegetables and serve them plain and tasteless? Why not everyone drink nutritional vitamin shakes just for the sake of enriching their bodies?
I think eating is art because we appreciate the taste of food, and most of all, appreciate how lucky we are to be able to eat meals.

A problem i encountered and how i solved it.
It was the start of the new year and every student knows that besides academics, the next important thing in school you have to do well in is your CCA. So it happened to me that i just left Chinese Orchestra and i had to get into a new CCA.
So i started to think what type of CCAs i should join, maybe sports, maybe some other stuff like Library. In the end i chose Uniformed groups as i think it will help me. (Plus the sessions are way lesser as compared to Chinese Orchestra)
I still didn't know which uniform groups to join and that was a great problem for me as all of them seemed to be good. I was fast in my decision and chose to join the Red Cross, i was hoping for the people there to teach me on survival skills which are fun and useful. I there i went to find Mdm Lyana to get a permission. However, she said i needed to get a CCA transfer form and let her sign it before she can let me in.
The work was very tedious, i had to do it one step by one step. One step will take a day as finding teachers are really hard, especially for the Upper Sec teachers as their timings are different from the Lower Sec. So after i got the CCA form from Miss Chew i suddenly changed my mind and decided to go to Scouts maybe because my cousin subconsciously convinced me by talking with me every Sunday, let it be any topic.
Today i found the CCA teacher-in-charge for scouts(he was Mr Tan Wil Beng, kind looking man)
and he said i will only be able to join if i state my reasons of changing my CCA. Meanwhile i am preparing my "speech" for tomorrow's final battle, i felt that i have solved this problem and i am very happy now. I have learnt that to get things done, we must have determination(like staying after school and looking for the teachers, not just waiting for the teachers to give me news.)

Something that took place in school.
We were entering the 2D classroom when the announcement sounded "For Sec 2s, 3s and 4s, morning assembly will be at the school hall". We were all very depressed as it was a long walk from our classroom to the school hall. "Why must the Assembly be conducted in the school hall. it isn't raining right?" i complained to myself as we strode to the hall.
At the hall it was quite usual, some people did not bring their ties and had to stand at the sides of the hall in embarrassment. After the school song, the principle did a little talk and suddenly introduced a group of students, by that time the students were already standing at the side of the hall.
They are students from a secondary school in Harbin, China and mind you, Harbin is in the northernmost place of China, and it is unimaginably cold. I turned around in response to a tap from Wen Hao and he whispered to me that during this few days Harbin was -23 degrees yesterday and today it was -26 degrees.
This is too crazy!
They must be very lucky to avoid such harsh weather to come to Singapore. I wonder how uncomfortable they will feel as it is humid in Singapore. By the way the students walked past our classrooms in small groups, i think there were about 5 groups. We waved to them as a form greeting but only a few of them looked at us. I think that they are already "scared" of this as they have walked past many classes and maybe all of them gave such responses.
In the recent years there are many student groups in China that are visiting Singapore to see how our school life is like. I hope that our school can organize more of such trips to other schools in other countries like those in China, it will definitely be fun!

Something unusual that happened that day.
Dear blog
It was windy that day so i decided to go for a jog at East Coast Park with my family, so we got ready and started to walk there. When we reached there it was almost deserted so we took the main path and started to do some warm-up stretching. "Owww" i mumbled as a pain spread through my thigh, i had not been doing stretching and gymnastic exercises for such a long period of time, maybe a month, i thought. I told my brothers to stretch their leg muscles and incredibly they asked me how to do it.
"One two three stretch!" i commanded as all of us bent down trying our best to touch our running shoes with our hands, for me it was fat hope. One of my brothers could even touch the ground with his open palms."Okay now that we are ready, lets walk to the starting point then!" as i lead the way to the cracked line on the cemented path where i took that place as a starting point. My brothers were already running and i could feel that they were all showing off. Later they will know how tiring it will be when they complete the first 1km. We got ready for the long run and did some last minute stretches when....
"Woof!" as a dog got unleashed and it started running down from a small hill beside the path towards us with a crazed look on its face. I was stupefied and instantly rooted to the ground, the dog went for my brother. The dog lunged itself towards the panick-strucken child and went onto his back, pushing him back a few steps. Then it was my turn, the dog faced me and started biting me. I made several attempts to push the dog away but to no avail, it kept coming at me like a hungry zombie. The dog made a few wounds on my fingers, with one thumb bleeding. Suddenly the beast's master shouted at the dog and magically it turned around a ran back, leaving a trail of terror inside me."What if the dog had some kind of disease and the virus got through the wound? Would i die?" i thought
As i was about to reprimand the dog and its master, the two "thugs" were nowhere to be seen... We decided to leave them alone. I rushed to the nearest toilet, cursing myself to have such a bad luck. After washing away all the dog saliva and the blood, i started running finally. This incident affected my mood the whole day and it was certainly and this "bad dog" incident was certainly unusual.

Something that i enjoyed doing alone
Dear diary
Did i tell you that i enjoy playing the piano very much? Perhaps i didn't, anyway i am with you my experience with the godly instrument. I started playing the piano when i was Primary 4, at that age it was already quite late to start but actually i prefer starting late as it is much easier and faster as compared to the young players. Okay let's not over-dwell on it.
At primary 5 i passed my grade 2 examination with good results(for my own standard) and aimed to take the grade 5 examination next. Later did i know that the next examination was 2 years later. I had to go through the grade 3 and 4 pieces, skills and the theory. It was boring.
Miraculously i passed(just on the line) though i made extreme mistakes like stopping halfway in my skills. After grade 5 i was able to play pieces of better music quality (not like grade 1) and therefore i officially make playing the piano one of my favourite activities from that time onwards.
Now at grade 6, i play really fun pieces like Soiree Polka which is a fun song with make-you-high effects. Also, there is a song that you must hear from Youtube which is "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence". I am very sure you wont like it the first time you hear it but trust me. After hearing for a few days or so you get in love with it forever.
Playing the piano makes me throw all my stress at a side and focus on enjoying the music, but sadly i really cant make sometimes as my neighbours might enter my house and give me a slap then going back to their sleep
I love playing the piano and you know i might consider being a part time pianist as a profession next time.(If i can make it)
Finally i hope you start learning how to play the piano now as i think you are capable of being a good pianist.(eg. long fingers and weird look)
